Surfer Rosa

Homemade simple. That’s what we’ve got planned for tonight’s menu by way of Plymouth Rock Oyster Growers.

hey thanks for the pix: bill doyle

Plucked from the intersection of Duxbury, Kingston and Plymouth bays – cold, pristine waters that are nutrient rich and sent to us directly from grower Bill Doyle.

They are exactly what a cold-water New England oyster should be. A clean, crisp taste that is both sweet & salty. #perfect

Vibes & Stuff

Tapped Barrier Brewing Company’s Dunegrass Double IPA. Can smell the orange, grapefruit and lemons while it’s being poured. Chocked full of fruit, means it’s healthy too yet has a classic dry finish, no sweetness.

And speaking of oranges…last night we slipped out to grab drinks at our new neighbor: The Eddy, where someone (husband) mistakenly ate the carrot garnish only to find out, the bitter way that it was an orange peel.

Happy Easter

Since Easter traditionally is a ham & lamb kind of day, neither of which we have on the menu…we will be closed this Sunday, April 20th.

So enjoy a day of meat with feet, accompanied by copious amounts of sugar. Chocolate dipped PEEPS? Yes please!

Eyes Without A Face

So while not as spiritual as a Virgin Mary grilled cheese we did laugh when we saw this face peering out at us from this morning’s bag of Atlantic Surf Clams.

If a cheese sandwich can fetch $28,000 wonder how much we could get for a nondenominational happy face? Who are we kidding…you can’t put a price on happiness!

Steal My Sunshine

Maybe a little positive reinforcement will help rid us of this never ending winter weather. Look at all the pretty spring colors Chef Kary put in our scallop ceviche.

Hadn’t seen/heard from New Ian lately, which made us wonder what he’s been up to. And then we saw this…

So now we’re all caught up.

Stop Making Sense

Some day the spring weather will arrive, but more importantly it’s choco matzo season! Super easy to make and super addictive to eat.

So here’s what you need:

  • 6 matzo
  • 1 cup butter (that’s 2 sticks)
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar (light or dark, it’s up to you)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (use the real stuff, it tastes way better)
  • 1 bag semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 oven, preheated @350

line cookie sheets w/parchment paper, lay out matzo

cover matzo in melted butter, vanilla & brown sugar then into oven for 8 minutes

place chips on top, then back into oven for 3 minutes, take out and smoosh melted chocolate on matzo, let cool in fridge

Welp, tonight’s staff meal is now ready to go.

Everybody Wants Some

Not one to pass up a little food porn, especially when it’s oysters. NYC Foodie shares his night hanging at our place. And drops an f-bomb…of the good kind.

hey thanks for the pix: nycfoodie.com

I never pass up a dish with sea urchin. The sea urchin here, is served with a raw egg, wild salmon roe, onions, butternut squash puree, and toasted points. You mix up the ingredients and spread it on the toasted points and have yourself an awesome little bite.  Check out his full scoop here.
