Shadow Dancing

So after yet another snowfall this morning, we couldn’t help but wonderHey, what’s up with Phil? Did he see his shadow or what? Yup, he sure did.

Damn you Phil! Well at least Day Light Savings hits us in early March, so it will be sunny while snowing. In the meantime, hope everyone is enjoying Beer Week.

Appetite For Destruction

For those of you who prefer the large, meaty oysters…feast your eyes on this guy. The world’s largest oyster. Alive and still growing, currently measuring 14 inches.

It was found in Wadden Sea National Park, off of the North Sea on Denmark’s southwestern coast. FYI: Denmark is the happiest nation in the world. #fact

And just to be clear, for those of you with limited attention spans that only looked at the pictures and didn’t read the text – no, this oyster will not be on the menu.

Like A Virgin

Kalamazoo is now officially in on the NYC beer scene. By way of Bell’s Brewery that is. #debutante

Bells Brewing

Before you smarty-pants haughtily point out that Kalamazoo is not in New York, we have two very important words for you: We know. Award. Winning.

So yes, we proudly promote the great beer produced in our fine state but we also celebrate great tasting craft beer in general too. Come by and try before the keg is kicked.

Hip Hop Hooray

So what do we have in common with: Grand Central Oyster Bar, John Dory Oyster Bar, Mary’s Fish Camp and Masion Premiere? Um yes, oysters. But besides that?

hey thanks for the pix: first we feast

First We Feast says we’re all their five favorite NYC raw bars. Not too shabby, eh?

Choppin Broccoli

On Thursdays we volunteer at God’s Love We Deliver, an amazing organization that prepares and delivers over 4,500 meals daily to those who are seriously ill.

Speaking of inspiring, our friend Jason Patrick aka Bearded Yogi is hosting a birthday fundraiser this weekend for God’s Love. So if you love yoga, dancing, eating & drinking you should join in and support this incredible effort.
Without the help of volunteers and supporters, God’s Love would not be able to cook and deliver 1.2 million meals each year. Learn more about how you and your friends can be volunteers for a day. It’s super easy and fun.

Peanuts & Cracker Jack

For fun, we google ourselves. We know you do it too. It’s like a game. While playing today, we came across this nice missive from The Herald of Everett, Washington.

Happy to hear you guys enjoyed yourselves and that you dig our crab cakes John Boyle , but please know our allegiance still lies with the New York Yankees. #ALEast

And thankfully only seven days until pitchers and catchers report for spring training.

Bad To The Bone

Super Sunday has nothing to do with football and everything about surviving a zombie apocalypse. Yup, we love, love, love The Walking Dead.

And if you’re walking through Union Square to get to our place, be on the lookout for zombies.

Two days and a couple hours until mid-season premiere…but who’s counting?

Narnia weather be damned. Those from upstate know a thing or two about shoveling.

Seems our neighbors could do with a lesson.
