Boo!

Thought it would be funny if BuckShowalter was a shark for Halloween. And perfectly fitting seeing how we own a seafood place. #landshark

Blowin In The Wind

Hey, we like a good alliteration every now & again but this whole Keep Calm and Carry On thing has gotten completely out of control. Case in point…

in a coupon…a coupon!

Or better yet even worse

propaganda for children, that’s edible – yum

Can we all just agree to Keep Calm and Cut It Out?

Insane Clown Posse

We noted this before, now it looks like our neighbors are in on it too.

And while scary clowns freak us out, we do dig the dead wedding.

But zombies will always have a special place in our heart. Duh. #TheWalkingDead

Adopt A Pot

No not that kind. This kind…pick a pot, make a donation and take it home.
Come support the Jefferson Market Garden this Saturday & Sunday. Maintained by a volunteer crew of neighbors, this lovingly tended garden is open to the public on weekends. And is also where we got hitched. #truestory

Bridge & Tunnel

Got some B & T in the house, of the good kind…as in Onabay Vineyard. #northfork
upstate craft beer & oyster bar

Dedicated to growing the highest quality cabernet franc, chardonnay and merlot grapes, Onabay’s winemaking team is led by Bruce Schneider, considered to be the cab franc pioneer on the North Fork of Long Island.

onabay vineyards, get it?

onabay vineyards, get it? they are on a bay, literally.

And if you poo-poo us for serving a red wine from Long Island, we’re gonna point out the fancy-shmancy establishments like 21 Club, Blue Hill and Jean-Georges that proudly feature Onabay in their wine program.

So who’s up for trying a medium bodied cab franc with fresh raspberry flavors with notes of savory herbs finish? Um that’s rhetorical folks.

Haka

Best flat white in NYC is Au Breve. Hands down. It also may be the only place to offer them but still they are the best.

au brève flat white

a neighborhood favorite of ours

We discovered flat whites while in New Zealand and made sure we had at least one every day. And lamb. We ate a lot of lamb while hanging in All Blacks territory. You haven’t experienced fandom until you have watched Rugby World Cup in a Kiwi pub. #haka

Ghosts, Jacks, Skulls & Bats

Tattoos. That’s what we’re giving out to the neighborhood hipsters kids this halloween.

And Hello Kitty glitter tattoos that our friend Neily-O brought back from the original Sanrio store, for those too sensitive to sport scary ones.

Have to keep hiding the candy that’s for the trick-or-treaters in our building, as someone (husband) tends to eat it all before Halloween.

Kiwi

These Coromandels arrived at 6am this morning. Only two places in NYC have them. Us and Aquagrill. #fancy
upstate craft beer & oyster bar

Medium in size with a deep cup. Coromandels have a clean, fresh flavor with a rich, briny liquor and slight cucumber finish. Thanks to being harvested during New Zealand’s colder months they have a firm, plump and buttery texture. And Bob’s your uncle.

Send In The Clowns

What’s up with the Spirit Halloween store? Crazy scary windows full of clowns!
We long for the Halloween of yesteryear. #oldfashion
Still scary, even in the daytime.
