They Might Be Giants

Came back from lunch, getting ready to open for service when we noticed this…um, right out in front our shop. Gives new meaning to the term tree hugger.

He/She moves too, apologies for the Blair Witch effect but just because we own a smart-phone doesn’t mean we (husband) know how to use it.

And to think folks were concerned that the invasion of 7-11 would gentrify our East Village. Not. A. Chance.

Rise

It’s crazy nice out folks an excellent way to end the corporate world working week. Think a little Herb Alpert is more than appropriate, wouldn’t you agree?

This grammy-winning song has been sampled by over 10 different rap and r&b artists. Not bad for a nerdy band geek. Bet Biggie Smalls Hypnotize is his favorite royalties rendition.

Waiting on beer deliveries this sunny morning, will have an updated draught list shortly.

Sippin’ On Some Syrup

Last couple of days have been gross but looks like tomorrow will be the best day of the weekend. Probably should play hookie plan on leaving the office a little early.

Best way to enjoy the warm weather and sun while it lasts? Brown-paper-bagging it of course. And we know of the perfect wine to class up the occasion. #highbrow

Bohigas Brut Rosat Cava. Yup a pink drink, kind of like purple drank for grown-ups. Our sassy neighbor Tinto Fino carries it for only $16.

Men At Work

Sorry folks, due to construction we will be closed today, Monday May 6th

can anyone find the instructions?

We’re installing new bi-fold doors to the storefront but of course the job is not quite as simple as we foolishly were led to believe. Apologies for being closed today but hey, could be worse – you too could be in the dog house with us (husband).

Paradise City

Spring weather has finally decided to join us which means the commencement of rooftop and park side libations throughout the city.

And to properly enjoy alfresco cocktails be sure to have the Presto Bucket on hand. We have a few and it is also our go-to-gift for apartment dwellers. Best. Gift. Ever.

Collapsable, waterproof buckets aside, a great view is also key. Jealous? Should be.

Tour De France

Bloomberg claims the Citi Bike program will generate $36MM in economic activity. Not sure what that means, but keep seeing signs of protest: community meetings, online petitions and QR Codes. QR Codes? Am embarrassed just typing it.

as of last week, bike racks have been popping up on the streets

so what’s the over/under that the program will actually survive?

The Department of Transportation promised “sturdy, heavy bikes,” however noted in Section 5 of the Citi Bike’s terms of service, titled “prohibited acts” it states, “You must not exceed the weight limit for the Citi Bicycle (260 pounds).” All riders are required to agree to a contract before hopping on a scale bike.

hey thanks for the pix: citi bike

Well there are no weight restrictions at our place, so what are you waiting for?
