Neighborhood Watch

What’s not to love about Ramen? That’s rhetorical folks, there is no correct answer to that question. We had lunch at the new-ish Zen 6, our neighbors on Sixth Street.

We (wife) did not share the homemade gyoza dumplings

Appreciate their expertly curated beer and sake selection and totally started drinking on the job chowed down their lunch special.

Not to worry, plenty of pork and egg under all those vegetables

And if you sit in the window, you have perfect view of soon-to-be new neighbor David Schwimmer. Support our East Village friends – we’re talking about Zen 6.

Hip Hop The Hippie The Hippie To The Hip Hip Hop

It’s beer week folks. Technically it’s ten days worth of city-wide events but hey math is hard overrated. Us? We’re hoppy about beer week.

DYK Cheech & Chong won a Grammy

Relax, it’s just a giant bag of hops… totally legal

We let Yadin in on what was really in the bag. Eventually.

We’re hopping up our beers all weekend. It’s like mixing Pop Rocks and coca-cola for grown-ups. Except it won’t Mikey you.

Married To A Self-Help Addict

This is one pile of the many self-help books we (husband) own. Not even counting all the Tony Robbins tapes. As in cassettes. Nope, don’t own a cassette player.

The America Alone title was for our (wife) book club to give the impression of running with a highly intellectual crowd. The rest belongs to the husband. Well as of now it all belongs to Good Will. But shhh don’t tell you know who.

Wheels Up

Arrived home in the early hours this morning, but not before getting time to check out the latest issue of SkyMall. Human toilets. Apparently not just for humans.

Our favorite part of Litter Kwitter? The full-on demonstration, sound effects and all at the end. Wish SkyMall was a tv show…oh wait, it is. They’re called commercials infomercials.

How Suite It Is

So while the trip was a semi-surprise for some (husband), having a suite was a full-on surprise. Kinda nice to stay in a hotel room larger than your apartment…sigh.

A proper dining room

Camel Toe

We’re here at Camelback Mountain. Nope not camping, unless The Phoenician is somehow considered roughing it.

Racing to the finish...

It’s 73 here and according to my iPhone, it’s 21 in NYC. Oy!

The Old Man & The Beast

We’re taking a mini vacation. So we’ve got the old man coming to town and hang with BuckShowalter. Wish we had a nanny-cam. Think it’s going to be a good show.

Also made sure we stocked up on all the proper supplies in preparation for their weekend together. Good to go!

So you folks behave while Big Neal is on watch, as the shop is still open even though we are away. And just like Santa, he’ll report back who was naughty and who was nice.

24 Hour Proposal Ban

If you haven’t been to Sunny’s Florist in the East Village, you must go. Just not today. Owner Sun Ja Hwong makes uh-may-zing arrangements at reasonable prices. Oh and she is open until midnight. Midnight!!

Sunny's Florist

Our Eve of Valentine’s Day romantic dinner from Bleecker Street Pizza our favorite. Technically our second favorite as John’s of Bleecker Street is THE best but they don’t deliver. And while we’re at it, props to Pete & Elda’s down at the Jersey Shore we luv their crazy crispy thin crust.

Enjoy Valentine’s Day folks. We have a 24 hour ban on marriage proposals in our place. Save it for another day. You’ll thank us later for it.

Gangs Of New York

No we’re not talking street thugs or crime families. We’re talking about Oyster Bay Guys. A bunch of suburban cowboys friends out on Long Island who rake wild clams.

Meet Nolan, our clam-man
