New It Bag

For those who ration our fettuccine with clams dish in order to bring some of it home, we got in new to-go bags. Don’t think we don’t know what you’re up to.

It’s also Lobster Boy’s birthday, Happy Birthday Chris! Showing off his newest tattoo from our friend Angelo at Fineline Tattoos.

“Don’t tell my mom”

In addition to new bags and tattoos we’ve also got a few new beers on draught.

See you upstate!

Field Of Dreams

We (wife) enjoyed ourselves at the Mandonna concert last night, despite paying $48 for four beers (!!)

First woman to headline Yankee Stadium

The best part of the evening? Our seats were on the field. Literally.

Our view from the field

This is what $48 beer looks like

Will have an updated draught list for this weekend shortly.

Umbrellas For (Re)Sale

One thing we can always count on during rainy days – all the emails, texts & phone calls we will receive the next day inquiring about black umbrellas left behind.

“Hi I think I left my umbrella last night, it’s black…”

Not to worry folks as we keep them all….minus a couple of the fancier umbrellas that made their way home with us. But the $5 street versions are safely kept under lock and key in the basement.

Sour milk free fridge, finally!

Many thanks to those who kindly reminded the husband to remove the milk from our home fridge. Was a nice surprise to come home to!

See you upstate!

September Morn

Yikes! How is it September already? Well we had a perfect ending to summer thanks to John Leland of The New York Times.

Courtesy of Ruby Washington for The New York Times

When the wife-and-husband team of Jennifer and Shane Covey opened their 28-seat East Village restaurant, Upstate, last July, the concept was monkishly minimal: beer and oysters. “We’re relatively uncomplicated people,” Ms. Covey said, though she also said her husband used three types of beer glasses at home.

Let’s set the record the straight on a couple of things:
A. that is not us in the picture above, not even close folks
B. the husband really is anal and makes us drink beer in proper glassware at home

Live scallops

Our scallop special to celebrate the end of summer: Scallop roe a la ceviche. We kinda just made it up.

Freshly simple seafood
