Yikes! How is it September already? Well we had a perfect ending to summer thanks to John Leland of The New York Times.
When the wife-and-husband team of Jennifer and Shane Covey opened their 28-seat East Village restaurant, Upstate, last July, the concept was monkishly minimal: beer and oysters. “We’re relatively uncomplicated people,” Ms. Covey said, though she also said her husband used three types of beer glasses at home.
Let’s set the record the straight on a couple of things:
A. that is not us in the picture above, not even close folks
B. the husband really is anal and makes us drink beer in proper glassware at home
Our scallop special to celebrate the end of summer: Scallop roe a la ceviche. We kinda just made it up.
