538 Whiskey Cakes Later
One year ago today, we officially opened. Check out our first post on this site.

Hard to believe where we started from…we have been amazed and humbled by the incredible support from everyone! And can’t thank you all enough.

Private Party This Evening
Our friend Ross is turning 40 today, so we will be closed for a private celebration this evening, Wednesday July 25
But hey, if you know any single ladies looking for a man…our Win A Date With Ian content is still going on

Win A Date With Ian
Hey ladies! We’re pimping out offering a great night out with new Ian.
He’s a funny lawyer, check out his blog or better yet follow him on twitter @sweatshorts.
Don’t miss out on this opportunity…we are offering a fabulous dinner at our place. Just email or tweet us why you would enjoy a dinner date with Ian. And we (wife) decide. Super simple right? Oh and you can expect a post-date interview for future blog fodder.

So Fine
In 1981 there was an awesomely bad movie, So Fine starring Ryan O’Neal, who designs an overnight financial fashion success – bottomless jeans.
And fast forward 31 years later…seems we (husband) could use a pair.
It’s not the late nights, manual labor or drunk surly customers that are the challenges of working in this industry, it’s being able to maintain your weight so your clothes properly fit.

Food Porn
People went bananas over the clam video we posted. And yes, it was real. Technically it was his (?) foot, not tongue. Clams don’t have tongues. Duh.

Dog Days
Don’t need us to remind you just how hot it is, has been and probably will continue to be. The dog days of summer my grandfather loves to say.
Come on by for a cold beer and we can kvetch about the heat together. That’s right, throwing down the Yiddish.

Dinner Dilemma
The irony of being restaurant owners that can’t figure out what to have for dinner is not lost on us. And no, we did not eat Subway last night.
Waiting on our beer and fish deliveries this morning as the temperature moves its way toward 97.

Sharing Is Caring
Two important things to share: wine & walkers. Good stuff you’re thinking, right?
Our cute neighbor, Tinto Fino carries a great selection of Spanish wine. Their friendly and knowledgeable staff recommended this lushishly (not a real word, got it – thanks) fruity cava.
And Robert Parker approved: Non-Vintage Brut Rosat has an enticing nose of strawberry and rhubarb. Crisp, flavorful and refreshing on the palate, it is the ideal brunch bubbly. Or drinking home alone, same/same.
We LUV the Walking Dead and find it somewhat tricky to have to wait until October for Season 3. But this trailer was released last week during Comic-Con. Merle is back!

Chef’s Night Out
Do you know Chef Tony? If you’ve been to our place late night, chances are you do.
Chef Tony resides over at Le Colonial. We met him last year during Hurricane Irene as we were pretty much the only ones open that weekend in the East Village. And he’s been coming back ever since.
Come by for a beer tonight, just updated our draught list for this evening. Come late and chances are you’ll get a Chef Tony sighting.

Clam I Am
O-M-G! Have you seen this? A clam eating salt off a table. We. Are. Obsessed.
Seems that clams are the new pet rock. Yup we (husband) participated in that dumb trend. Ah the 70s…
Wonder if clams like beer?
