A Bronx Tale About An Ale

Bronx Brewery rolled into town, to bring us their signature pale ale.

Badass wheels don't ya think?

Released in September 2011, the Bronx Pale Ale is The Bronx Brewery’s first beer. It is a deep amber American-style pale ale that is brewed with five different barley malts, generous additions of Cascade and Centennial hops and a unique strain of yeast. It is dry-hopped, unfiltered, and unpasteurized. We say it’s one of the best pale ales we’ve served here.

Co-founders Damian Brown & Chris Gallant

In addition to being maniacal about their craft, this is a company that also supports local non-profit communities like The Bronx Museum of the Arts. So we know these fellas were raised right. And that we (husband) take lousy, out-of-focus pictures.

Shenanigans

Never a good sign when multiple fire trucks pull up in front of your building. Let alone having them walk into your building.

Our Saturday morning view

Turns out one of our upstairs neighbor is just a really bad cook. Or a really excellent burner, depending on how you view the situation. Once we knew all was fine, we headed over to the shop to bake whiskey cakes and wait for our beer and fish deliveries.

A Man With A (Beer) Van

This is Ben. He’s from Oneonta, NY, the city of the hills – nope we totally did not make that up. He brews his own beer and we’ve got it on draught tonight.

Ben went to Cornell. Maybe you heard of it?

Ben is a bigger beer nerd than us (husband) as he actually majored in biology which is a bit harder than a major in acting and makes his own yeast. He’s heady. And he’s even got a van!

Sweet ride Ben, sweet ride

So come on by as Ben Brew’s is only $5 tonight. Support NY beer. And while you are at it, give Ben’s facebook page a like or two.

Tattoo You

Meet Angelo. He’s an adventurous oyster eater and our neighbor at Fineline Tattoo.

He pounded a giant Elkhorn, slurped straight off the half-shell, which is proper oyster etiquette. And why we like him so much. Well that and hanging out him makes us feel a little badass.
