Jiro Dreams of Sushi is the story of 85 year-old Jiro Ono, considered by many to be the world’s greatest sushi chef. He is the proprietor of Michelin Guide 3-star Sukiyabashi Jiro, a 10-seat restaurant located in a Tokyo subway station.
Eric Ripert has a great line about Ono: I was blown away by the quality of the sushi, especially the rice. I had never tasted rice like that. It was like this cloud that explodes in your mouth.
It’s a great 90 minute film – the Tsukiji market scenes were our favorite.
See you upstate!
