Maybe Next Time Mega Millions

We didn’t win one single cent of the $640 million dollar jackpot.

Had a 1 in 176 million chance of winning but no suck luck.

So we are back to baking whiskey cakes this rainy morning as we wait for the fish delivery. Getting in jumbo sized soft-shell crab from FLA. Also just tapped a couple of kegs, great draught line-up for tonight. We’ve got Kelso Recessionator, brand new to the beer scene.

Monday Construction, Tons O’ Fun

We’re building an entire new wall unit in less than 24 hours. Not to worry , we actually hired professionals this time around.

Poor little guys - "help us, please - too much construction"

So by this time tomorrow, we’ll still be assembling shelves be super organized and have our new shelves in place! Shall we call the over/under?

Facebook for Fish

When the last customer of the night is happily fed and on their merry way home to bed, we drive to the Bronx and hand pick the next day’s specials.

new fulton fish market @2am

We pride ourselves on being seafood purists – as in placing emphasis on the taste of the fish, rather than sauces and creams. And purposely why we crafted such a selective menu.

It’s also important to adhere to sustainable fishing practices and we only partner with companies of similar philosophies. A lot of us in the industry use the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch as a guide to confirm which fish types have an ocean friendly profile. It’s like Facebook for fish.

Éirinn Go Brách

Celebrating St. Patrick’s Day by tapping some English style barleywine…we know Ireland is not England but it is part of the United Kingdom so it’s all related.

Caught our neighbor wearing this

Lots of green-garbed revelers taking it to the streets already but enough with the shenanigans and back to the beer – we’ve got 21st Amendment’s Lower de Boom barleywine on tap.

Don't be fooled by our bootleg pix, it's pretty manly stuff @10.5% ABV

Named after Cornelius de Boom, the San Francisco Belgian Consulate General – has a deep mahogany color, rich malt candied and rock sugar flavors with sweet burnt currant and fig aromas. Super tasty, so come on by.

Everybody Loves Baby Pandas

It started innocently enough while the whiskey cakes baked this morning, spent the time waiting for our beer and fish deliveries online and came across our neighbor’s @biggayicecream tweet:

This photo of babypandalove comes from @janewiedlin. Blame *her* if it’s awesomeness makes you insane.

so cute you just want to squeeze them

So of course, that photo then prompted us to seek additional baby panda photos and that’s where we came across this video:

And pretty much the rest of the morning was a furry black & white blur. But we do have an updated draught list, freshly baked whiskey cakes and will shortly post today’s oyster selection.
