I love you. I love all gajillion types of your oysters and I love that you know your oysters… really really well. I appreciate that there is never a popped belly, a bit of grit or a teeth wrenching piece of shell in the bunch. I love your teeny tiny menu and the fact that you do just a few things really well. Daily scallop? Pasta with clams? House-cured salmon? And a downright respectable charcuterie plate. And everyone is so darn-pinch-your-cheeks nice in that cool sorta way. What? You made all of your furniture by yourself? Swoon. Well, you’ll probably be seeing me in one of those homemade stools eating whiskey cake on a fairly regular basis.
Shouldn’t be a dry eye in the house after reading that note folks. Well new friend Courtney, we love that you love us. And what better way to express our gratitude than a song.
For the record George Harrison is our favorite Beatle (technically the husband probably can’t name all four). He was lead guitarist and had a back log of material Paul/John ‘rejected’ used for his triple album All Things Must Pass.
And let’s not forget that both Paul/John stated Something is among the best songs the group had to offer – covered by over 150 artists including Elvis Presley, Shirley Bassey, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, James Brown, Julio Iglesias, The Miracles, Eric Clapton, and Joe Cocker AND is the second-most covered Beatles’ song after Yesterday. So guess what Pandora playlist we’ll be queueing up this weekend?
See you upstate!
